I am very excited to take on the role of Director of Teaching and Learning at Lakewood School. My experience includes five years of teaching third grade, nine years of serving as a gifted and talented coordinator, and seven years of leading two different schools in Racine as principal.
As the Director of Teaching and Learning, I will guide the staff in using data to drive instruction, observe teaching and provide frequent feedback, assist in instructional planning, and lead professional development. I will also be focusing on adding enrichment and extracurricular opportunities for our Lakeview Raiders.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Vaughn. We enjoy biking, swimming, skiing, and refinishing furniture. He is from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, so we are fortunate enough to have one of the best places to vacation! Speaking of vacations, I love to travel. I have been to over 40 countries. Paris is my favorite city, and Zimbabwe is my favorite country.
I look forward to getting to know all of the students and families at Lakewood School and continuing the level of excellence that Mrs. Markee has helped implement.
