All About Me

I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  My professional teaching experience has spanned the globe as an elementary English as a Second Language teacher in Spain and as a high school American Literature teacher in Bogota Colombia for 3 years.  After returning from Colombia, I taught Spanish for 5 years in an elementary  Montessori school in Winona, Minnesota.  I have been married for 25 years to my husband  and we have 3 amazing children.  Our oldest daughter, Lauren,  is a Senior at UW-Stevens Point. Andres is a sophomore at Loyola Universityand Jacob is a sophomore at Wilmot.

Outside of school our family spends a lot of time at many of our children’s sporting events, hiking, biking, and traveling.

I began working as a RTI ( Response to Intervention) coordinator in 2011.  I enjoy working with students at all grade levels and I strive to address every student as an individual learner.  The MTSS interventions are intended to increase the success of all learners by addressing each individual student’s needs and strengths.

I also enjoy supporting our English language learners, their families, and classroom teachers by interpreting and translating whenever needed.  I believe that connecting with the students and their families in their home language provides an important foundation for the child’s positive school experience.  I have served as a faculty member on NJHS for 5 years and three additional year as co-advisor.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about Math MTSS and how Lakewood is using interventions to respond to the needs of all of our students.
