Art's a Piece of Cake!
After learning about American artist Wayne Thiebaud (pronounced Tee-Boe), who is famous for his paintings of desserts and confections, 4th and 7th grade art students made cake and pie sculptures out of paint, flour, and paper mache.
They
voted for their favorites from each class, and now you can
see those delicious works of art on display at Bodi's
Bakery. The artists who received the most votes also got a
free cookie coupon generously donated by Bodi's. What's
even more exciting is that after writing to Wayne Thiebaud,
himself, and sending him pictures, he wrote back thanking us
for our hard work and kind words!
Sure looks good enough to eat?!
