Welcome to Lakewood School
Second
Annual 5K Race
This year, the Striding into Summer 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held on June 2, 2012 at 8:00
AM. Please register by May 18,
2012 to be guaranteed a race bag and shirt. Forms can be
found online at www.stridingintosummer5k.
There are numerous opportunities for volunteers before, during, and after the race. If you wish to help out, please contact Miss Morton or Mrs. Dutton.
Change in Dress Code!
There has been a recent change to the Lakewood dress code.
The change concerns the wearing of tank tops. Previously
they had not been allowed at school indicating that
shoulders must be completely covered. Under
the change in the dress code, tank tops will be allowed at
school providing that the shoulder
straps are as wide as “3 fingers” of the student wearing the
top.
The administration reserves the right to make the final
decision when there are any questions. Please be aware that
this change applies to both students and staff.

Stop Motion Anti-Drug Videos Win Second Place!
Our grade 6 stop-motion Anti-Drug Videos took second place in the Kenosha County Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs contest. The students whose videos were submitted will receive a group trophy, $100 to use for our classroom(s), a picture in the Kenosha News, and a letter sent home to their parents inviting them to a brunch at Tremper High School on March 31, 2012. The prize will be presented at the brunch. Thank you again to Mr. McCanna for working with the sixth graders on this project!
